Nikon today announced four new Coolpix point-and-shoot camera, the one that has a unique feature we have not seen before in camera: built-in projector to play back images and video. The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj ($ 430, available in September) is also equipped with a 12-megapixel sensor, 5X optical zoom Nikkor lens (28mm to 240mm), a 2.7-inch-diagonal LCD, and ISO up to 3200 on a high resolution full (as well as ISO 6400 at 3-megapixel resolution). a miniature projector (on the front and middle of the camera) have a 10-inch to 6.5-foot throw range, standard-definition VGA resolution, and brightness rating of 10 lumens.
In some brief hands-on time with S1000pj, projectors work well in a dimly-lit room, and a sharp image when projected on the blank white surface of the foot from the camera. That the projector is still visible when the image projected to the wall is about 10 feet, but they (understandably) more or less sharp and bright.
S1000pj from the projector that is designed by Nikon, and most mini projector (such as the Optoma Pico Pocket Projector) fall within the same brightness and disposal distance most of the office and home theater projectors, which fell far brighter, 1000-plus lumen range. With that in mind, you can not hope to host many drive-in movie with S1000pj, but can be a source of some good party tricks (not to mention the projected virtual "Kick Me" signs on the back).
Three other 12-megapixel Coolpix camera is part of this announcement, and all will be available in September. Top-end model of the other three are slim, touchscreen-capable Nikon Coolpix S70 ($ 400).
S70 is equipped with a bright, large 3.5 inch diagonal OLED screen, and does not have physical control than the shutter button. Gestures such as the touchscreen that supports finger swipes and grappling images during playback, and "Touch Shutter" feature that locks the image after you tap the screen. In addition to having dual-image stabilization system and a 5X optical zoom Nikkor lens (28mm to 240mm), the S70 shoots 720p HD video at 30 frames per second.
Also new from Nikon Coolpix S640 is $ 250, a 5X optical zoom (28mm to 240mm) model with the 2.7-inch LCD replaces the Coolpix S620 was announced earlier this year.
Nikon Coolpix S640 is touting a fast time of start-up (0.7 seconds), faster autofocus, and motion-tracking features.
Around the announcement that $ 200 is the new Coolpix S570, which replaces the Coolpix S550 and S560 models.
Akan S570 features a 5X optical zoom (28mm to 240mm), optical image stabilization, and ISO 3200 images at full resolution.
